TAKE YOUR MOUSE OUT ITS HOLSTER AND GET READY! A BLOOD BATH IS COMING TO YOUR MAC!!!!
Los Angeles, California -- Underworld Software has released "Blood Bath," a new action game on Macintosh CD-ROM and floppy disk. "Blood Bath" is a red-hot shoot-'em-up that pumps fast, fluid, full-screen video into the heart of the Mac and is sure to get your blood flowing. "Blood Bath" is available by direct order from Underworld Software---see info below.
"Blood Bath's" interface is classic and pure shooting gallery. Underworld uses a new proprietary video compression scheme that brings smooth animation to even the slowest color Macs (Rob Pegoraro of The Washington Post writes "technological triumph...the game ran as well on a two-year-old PowerBook as on a PowerMac 7100). "Blood Bath" is never interrupted by stop-gap frames and video sequence loading that have typified most recent attempts at combining full-screen video with addicting shoot-'em-up gameplay. The action is fast and furious like a shoot-out should be.
Your PC and home game machine friends will drool in envy when they see Blood Bath. With this breakthrough technology, "Blood Bath" combines true interactive game play with the most realistic digitized video ever seen. Forget virtual: this is real! Don't worry. We've included an option to tone down the violence for the squeamish among you.
The plot is good B-movie fun and is quickly laid out in a swift movie sequence that doesn't interfere with the gameplay; it just gets the game flowing. You play a sheriff in a small town ominously named Red Falls. A bloodthirsty busload of hardcore cons have escaped on a nearby highway swarming the town with fast-moving foes. It's your job to hunt these bastards down. Grab a gun--it's time to clean up the streets.
The July issue of the hot new game magazine Dimension 3 gave "Blood Bath" a "Gold" rating---the highest possible!!!--and a "92%" ("Marathon" received a "90%" by comparison). And customers agree: "I recently purchased your game Blood Bath," writes one customer, "and it is without a doubt the best game that I have ever seen for Machintosh." Another customer says "BLOOD BATH is so outstanding and so real....it beats Wolfenstein, Malstrom and Syndicate which used to be my top 3 programs. I've bought Myst, Flying Nightmares and Jump Raven which were expensive and they don't work on my 550....Thank you for making BLOOD BATH compatible on my 550 and especially being able to use the CD ROM!"
Rapid-fire responsiveness and realistic video are at the heart of "Blood Bath's" unique upgrade of the classic shooting gallery arcade game. But it also has plenty of strong arteries pumping up the game: hidden levels, power-ups, blood-curdling music and sound effects, cinematic angles, funny dialogue, a cool start-up screen, and much more.
"Blood Bath" runs on CD-ROM. For those of you w/out a CD-ROM drive, a downloadable version of the game will be available for purchase very soon. Check our web page:
